Default Meguiars NXT

I must be doing something wrong. But I've tried it twice now and both time I had the same result. It's very hard to buff out. It leaves streaks. I'll take a microfiber towel and buff the hell out of a spot and it'll look good. Problem is, at the edges where I stopped my power buffing routine, it's "smeared" there.

What's going on? How do I get that smoothed out. Once I have that, I'll stop using the stuff.

I use a DA to apply and microfiber to take it off, no issues. Are you letting it dry long enough?

Well, this time I waxed the entire thing before I started taking it off. Kind of thinking that if it's smearing, it hasn't "hardened" enough. It was not in direct sun. It was actually a little overcast that day.

Normally I'll do one or two sections at a time, not wax the whole thing so I think I've covered my bases.

Yep, NXT can take a while too dry, I've tried too soon and gotten smears. Have to swipe test it, and even when I think it's good if I find it smearing in places I give it more time.

"To perform a Swipe Test, take your index finger and swipe it across the film of wax or paint protectant on your finish. If your finger wipes away the dried residue and the surface below is shiny, then the wax, or paint protectant, is ready to be removed.

If however, you swipe the finish and the product streaks or smears, you need to allow a little more time for it to fully cure."

Try Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0. It's one of the best synthetic sealants on the market. Very easy to apply and remove.

Good to know. It's been 4 days now. Should be good. Except...I did try detailer to get rid of the swirls. Maybe I need to rewax the whole thing and start over. Maybe put a few heat lamps in the rafters of the garage.

I used to like Liquid Glass but I haven't seen it around here anywhere. Could probably find it online.

Yowza's I'd hope it would be dry by now, it may actually be too dry and yes the same wax is the best to remoisturize to get it off (same as any product that drys to the car). Are you sure you are not using too much wax? I was guilty of that, I used to pile it on and then had trouble getting it off (was using Gold Class at the time), it would gunk up the towels way too quickly and then re-smear what was on the microfiber back on to the paint.

I do sometimes have light smears in random spots now, but a microfiber clears it right off the next day, although they are usually my fault for waxing at night with limited lighting and then seeing what was missed in the sun the next day.
