Default shifter bezel

I just bought a 2005 gt 5 speed and the car is bone stock except the owner put an aluminum shifter bezel and an aluminum shift ****... I already put the stock **** on but he didnt have the stock bezel.. I think its soo ugly.. anyone know where I can get the stock one?

www.fordparts.com but I think the bezel is just an add on, you should be able to remove it? Pics?

Let me know, I'm almost positive it just attaches to the outside of the shifter boot.

Nope. The shifter bezel comes in one piece with the shift boot attached. You can get one off of a California Special or Bullitt edition, and it will come with a much more subtle brushed aluminum (look) bezel, or you can get a stock GT one with the leather bezel.

FWIW, Steve, I agree. Most of those aftermarket aluminum bezels look ridiculously gaudy. To each his own (thank goodness), but if you are set on a OEM GT boot/bezel combo, I have one I can sell you cheap.

Hey wait...I just realized, if he put one of those huge aftermarket bezels on, they're just plopped on top with double sided tape or something, aren't they? You could just remove it, and you'd be back to stock (no need to get a new one).

Am I missing something here?

Yea thats what I was saying unless the guy replaced the whole boot/bezel.

i just looked at it, and its screwed into the original one ewww.. So i guess i have to get a new boot
