Exclamation roush spoiler drilling??

Does the sides on the quarter panel on the roush spoiler for a 2008 mustang gt have to be drilled or can 3m double sided tape be used instead. Will it hold compared to it being drilled

thanks guys

i'm not sure how well tape will hold, but i know another member on here cut off the bolts from the side pieces and used tape instead. I imagine it would work fine since people use tape on other body parts.

I wouldn't drill it, no way.
Especially the one at the pointy end.

I installed a lot of these and none of them I drilled, and all of them are still on.
Those end pieces are too light to worry about coming off anyway.
You have to cut the one stud off and grind the base of it a little before you can install it.

This is not only true for Roush, but any 3 piece spoiler that uses extensions on the quarter panels.
My duck tail isn't drilled and it's not about to come loose 4 years later...

knock on wood right? lol

when i first had my louvers installed, they messed up on the tape and my driver side one flew off on a back road doing around 60mph. they replaced it luckily... but only cause they had to.

If it's done right, it'll stay on until the car starts to rust.

Some side louvers, like Roush, have a fugged up design...
Not enough 3M tape, only at the 3 anchor points where it screws into.
If it was taped all around, it'll stay on...

I was cussing Roush when I removed mine and replaced it with the trakpak wing... I have plastic plugs to fill the holes they drilled in case I decide to put the spoiler back on some day.. Talk about over engineering.. Think the spoiler will stay on if you were going Mach 3.. Tape should hold it fine as tape holds on side scoops.. should say if done correctly!

this will prob be the last spoiler i install so i want to know if its worth the drilling or would it be cheaper to have it installed with tape instead of drilling
