Default Spoiler Options / Delete

I'm not a fan of the stock pedastal spoiler and used 4 black Autozone, Dorman hole / trim plugs with a little caulk on the underside for a 'look see' temporary option. It would look a little better if the plugs were painted HP white. I'd post a picture but the forum "Posting Rules" for me say i may NOT post attachments. (how do I get that changed?)

Maybe later, I'll get the holes filled and the trunk repainted as the clean line is what I really prefer. If I do stick with a some type of spoiler, I like the GT-500 style but there are a lot of those on Mustangs around St Louis and I'd like something different but subtle - for example the V6 Pony flat style spoiler. Any idea where I can get one in Performance White? I'd be willing to paint it if the price/shipping were right - I've seen them however in the $250-$300 but too expensive. Thanks for your advise.

Watch the classifieds for a V6 spoiler as they pop up once and a while. Your only other option is buy a new one from Ford and get it painted... but like you stated, that will be very pricey. I found one in my car's color for $75 shipped! Short term, just get a small bottle of touch paint from Ford and paint the plugs. I did that on mine and they are hardly noticable.

As for posting pics, think you need to have 50 posts before you can post one.

To post pics, you need to have an image hosting site (such as imageshack or photobucket) and you link the image to your post via the mountain and sun yellow icon.

You can try newtakeoff and see if they have any v6 spoilers. Classifieds, ebay, cragislist are also another good places to look. Otherwise just look at body kit vendors, you might find something you like that is similar.

Haven't looked in a while, but you may try www.newtakeoff.com or www.v6mustangstuff.com and look through the take-off section for the spoiler you want. Like I said, I haven't looked in a while but they may have them.

Spoiler delete looks just fine.

Pic of my car without a spoiler. Don't need a piece of plastic over the trunk to go fast

The rear spoiler is fine for those who don't mind the weight / speed penalty and don't mind the additional aerodynamic drag / speed penalty, offset by the desired appearance.

I found a V6 Pony Package flat type spoiler from an 09 locally for a good price, but it's gloss black. My GT/CS 'vert is performance white. I mounted on the trunk lid for a look see and the contrast looks pretty good. It might look better if it were satin black like the "old school" Mach I spoilers. Does anyone have D.I.Y. tips on how to de-gloss the finish to get a satin finish on the spoiler? rubbing compound? 00 steel wool?
