Exclamation Help with grill situation

hey guys so when i took my stock grill out the stock frame left some scratches on the top of the bumper that are noticeable. Since my new 9 bar grill does not cover where the stock grill frame was, would it be possible to lay over the 9 bar grill on top on the stock frame. Whats the process if i wanted to do this. I know the fogs and pony need to be removed but what else to hold it in place with the stock frame.
