So I've been looking at all the drab grey plastic in my interior and thinking about changing the look. I wanted to get some opinions about the aftermarket dash kits available. First, I like how they look. If you do not, great that is your opinion. Second, I do not have the patience to buy carbon fiber, take apart my interior and wrap the individual pieces.

That being said, here are my questions:

Has anyone bought one of the kits? What did you like/dislike? Any photos?

What brands are ok? I keep seeing B & I on different websites, is this the most notable brand?

I am looking at the 12 piece kit, and 5 piece lower kit from this site:

My question is the real carbon fiber kit worth the extra money($80) as opposed to the black fiber?

i can't vouch for which kit is the best, i've seen stangs with kits on them, and they looked fine.. i think there is a point where it can be overdone though.. ie.. lower kit & the upper kit together.. the only ones that looked right to me were just the upper kits alone... just PLEASE don't get burled walnut.. lol

 

Do you have the IUP upgrade?
If you don't that could be a cheaper option and IMO it looks good.

No way, just looking at the carbon fiber option to cover some of the plastic.

 

Interior Upgrade Package

 

Its the chrome dash and steering wheel that was an option in 05-09.

 

I thought that was what it stood for, but what came in it and can it be installed on a used car or did it only come as a new option? Sorry kind of long winded 3 prong question.

 

Not sure about everything it came with, because I have the basic black interior, but for what I know it came with leather seats, the leather wrapped steering wheel, brushed silver dash... (anyone chime in and add anything I forgot). You can add it to a used car, that's kind of what I've been doing. I added leather seats and ditched my cloth, swapped the plastic wheel for the leather wrapped one etc. You can find IUP packages on ebay and the like every once in a while
