Hey folks, I know I've seen a couple forum members have the GTS4 hood. I was wondering if those who do keep the heat extractors fully opened or if they use that block thing that is on it. I picked one up from a forum member and want to use it, but dont want to risk engine damage from rain, THanks in advance
I know many people with that hood, a lot of them just leave them open. I personally just put painters tape over my heat extractor vents when it rains or I was the car.
Seeing as mine isn't my DD I havent run into the problem. and if I were to get caught in a monsoon i would pull in a gas station and put the rain gaurds on. Otherwise it will handle moderate rain well, some people just get battery and fuse box covers, everything else can get a little wet.
Noone has answered the question on how to make the ram air functional with the stock airbox.. it will probably be another month or two before I can get a CAI...
I've been looking at the GTS-4 hood as well. I've heard that the heat extractors are located right above an engine temperature sensor and that it turns on the engine light because that sensor reads cold. Any comments, problems on that? Or was that a one off problem?
