Default Emblem inside door

I got a pair of '64-68 fender emblems off of eBay and want to put them on the interior side of my doors. They have 3 prongs on them. I guess I need to saw them off, but what is the best way to attach it to the door? I have the upgrade on mine so it has material.

They look similar to this;

I prepped the area well by cleaning with alcohol and used 3M automotive double sided tape. I suggest staying away for the generic tape. I've had my emblems on for two years with no issues. Even in the Arizona heat they remained for two summers so far.

I've used 3M for years - it works and lasts.

Do you guys think the weight of the emblem would pull the vinyl panel off? I know some are already complaining about sagging inserts. Just wondering if these would cause it? They are not plastic but vintage Chrome.

Mine are just plastic and weigh next to nothing. If you want the chrome ones, I would just roll the dice and use them and deal with sagging if it happens. I'm betting you'll be fine.

Snap the pins off.
They should have 3M VHB tape on them?
Mine did. I guess the Metal Chrome ones didnt
have VHB cus it was not around then.
They are sure to sag on the material they are
mounted to unless you drill holes and use speed
clips from behind to hold them in place.
Be sure they are running in the right direction
or you will get all sorts of hee haws around here...

Here are the plastic #s if interested...

Since they are made of chrome, the pegs would have to be cut off. Part of me hates to destroy a vintage piece (from a '64-'67 Mustang). I also feel the weight would surely sag the material. I agree with you that I would have to drill a hole in the fabric to make it more secure.
I think I am just going to look around for some that are made of plastic and are much lighter.
Thanks for the emblem numbers.

I'll keep an eye on eBay for some. The ones I have now were bought off of eBay.
