Default Replacing bottom seat cover - foam -

Hey Guys,

Anyone here replace their seat foam or covers? My bottom seat leather is ripped - i have bought a used replacement that includes the foam. Just curious if anyone knows how difficult or what steps might be involved in replacing the bottom foams?

I have put new seat covers on my seats. Actually, the bottom is a little easier than the seatback. Use cable ties instead of replacing the hog rings with new rings. Mine were leather, so I made sure everything was warm and pliable. Try a search and see what comes up. It is certainly doable by any handy person.

It's not bad at all I did a TMI kit on mine. You need to remove the seat back my tip is remember to put the back reclined a little. Somewhere in the middle of its range of motion. I forgot and left it folded over and fought for hours getting it bolted back up. Also I got my hog rings from a local upholstery shop. You should only need maybe 5-10 in the seat bottom. Should only cost you about $5

Thanks! - I'm doing the seat bottom that has the foam attached... it almost didnt look like i needed to use hog rings. The video i watched showed removing the whole seat... are you thinking i won't need to remove the whole seat from the car?

This is the one i'm getting, not great but better then my ripped bottom:

Yeah it's probably already attached. You will still have to take the seat out there's no way to get to all the clips with it in the car. Also if you want to clean that leather up really well look for a product called leatherique. I used it on a set of junkyard seats I put in my ranger and I condition all my leather with it now. It took the crusty leather and made it soft again while getting most of the dirt/ stains off. It's a tad pricy but it works.
