Bumper change on v6 (2007)

Hey, I'm new to the car modification scene, and I read on here that the GT's bumper fits on a V6, just would need a different grille. I'm thinking about changing my bumper to a California Special style bumper, and was wondering if it would fit correctly, and what parts I might need to help accommodate. Sorry for me being uninformed, but thanks.

Guessing you would need all the exterior pieces of whatever style grill and bumper you choose. Hopefully they will be plug and play. Having said that in all my years of racing and hot rodding, nothing is truly bolt on most of the time so beware.

The bumper itself is a fit for the S197 across the platform for 2005-2009. HOWEVER, the grilles are a different shape for GT and V6 so you have to get a GT grille, the foam bumper support is different and you will need the GT support or have to trim your V6, and the fender liner is different so you will need the GT fender liner.

There is a foam support behind the bumper and in front of the crash bar that helps keep it in shape and as protection. There is a difference between the GT and V6 because of the shape of the bumpers and grille. You can shave the V6 to fit.
