Exclamation Air Conditioner Vent Removal help.

Got them out but cant get the chrome ring out or the vent itself out to paint.
I see small clamps but they are so small and tight I am afraid to break them and I am not positive this is how the come out.
Here are some pics.

can you help me on how to get the vent part (blades) out so I can paint them?
Thanks..

Another clamp? also notice the round studs which actually come from the fan.

GENTLY pull back on the clip on one side and then the other to get it open. As soon as one is open you can pull the vent up a little and then do the other one. It is easier if you have the vent pod laying down when you do it.

Inside clips will not budge. do I take them out via pulling from the inside or outside?

What inside clips are you referring to now?

When I painted my vents I pulled the "chrome" clips on the first picture back to separate the surround from the vent. Then I painted the vent with the black leaving the vent slightly open. Once it was dry I flipped it over and painted the inside of the vent black. When everything was dry I double checked to make sure that the edges of the vent were painted and gave it a quick coat where it was still showing the grey.

Are you trying to separate the vents themselves now? I had one come apart on me and never did figure out how to put it back together. It wasn't a problem since I have the Roush vent pods in the center to hold my wideband and boost/vacuum so I didn't need it to put back in the car.
