Well I was looking into a similar thing (more for music insulation), but I came across a couple names. Dynamat was the most highly recomended just go to www.dynamat.com

dynamat in doors and floorboards, and get your underbody coated!

it's been raining here the last couple of days and i have noticed that wet road increases road noise by an amazing amount. and yes, it does sound like it's coming from the rear wheels. i just turn my shaker 1000 up and it's fine

isn't your shaker 1000 loud enough? i know mine is

I've read some good things about FatMat and eDead... both are cheaper than Dynamat - by quite a bit... don't know much more than that right now, still doing my own research.
