Stock mustangs are tuned for 87 octane, so just use that. there won't be much of a performance gain with premium until it is tuned for premium

Hi

I have a question about fuel quality in USA. Can it be compared with European quality (We usually have 92/95/98 octane).

My idea was to tune my car at least to 95 octane (with predator), but I'm not sure if this works with custom tuning (AFAIK there is no knocking sensor on the Mustang, right?)

The V8 has two knock sensors, the V6 has only one.

US gas can only be compared to Europe in terms of liquid measure. lol

I think the octanes are comparable if you're using 95 RON, that would be similar to US 89 (RON+MON/2). So, a US 89 octane tune would probably do you just fine on your 95. I would get it custom tuned though, just to be certain you are running optimally.

then risk is limited anyway

this is what I expected, but I was not sure......then maybe the 93 tuning fits what we call 98?

yes, thats what I thought, but it's not so easy as it is a really rare car here .......

thanks for the input

Yeah, our 92/93 should compare to your 98.

If your engine doesnt need higher octaine then there is ZERO benifit to using it. Octane does not increase horsepower, just decreases the $ in your pocket...

Definatly run regular gas until you get a tune. My I picked up my mustang, the dealership ship filled it up and put premium in it. 15 mins later driving down the highway, I gased it a little to get around a car and my stang started mis-firing. I've put regular in ever since and never had the problem again
