Default Weird question about rear wheels

I am going to get some 20's for my 06 stang and they weigh about 66lbs. with just rims together. I heard this guy saying that the rear axle can only support a max. of 50lbs. in the back for rims and tires... something like that. Is this true? Are my rims going to be too heavy!? Sorry, for the weird question, just trying to be safer than sorry.

That's pretty heavy. I wouldn't go against recommendations but do you really want to put that heavy a wheel on your car? Seems like you'll lose more than you'll gain....guess i'd have to see them. Not sure if unsprung weight affects cars as it does bikes. Anyone know?Do you have a pic?

Those wheels do look hot. Are they one-offs or what?

Don't know the weight, but 20's on my 05. No problems whatsoever......

However, I can't brag about the ride on mine!! Considering downsizing....

SOAB, skymedic are those Foose Nitrous rims? If so, looks like you got to them before me. ..

Oh well, I guess their will be two of us with the best rims on here..

Yeap, the rims skymedic has are the rims I want. Actually I want the 20x10.5 in the rears and this one site I found says each rim is about 33 lbs. Which is why I asked the question. The 20 x 8.5..I think...were 22 lbs....that's what the site I found says.

Is that 66 lbs for both the back rims? That's some pretty stout rims. What kind are you looking at?

The stock 18s are already 55lbs with tires, 110 total per axle.
