Default Check Engine Light

I noticed the check engine light came on in the gray Mustang last night. I took it to the dealer this morning and they said it was a code for the EVAP system. The solution for now is to clear the code but Ford is aware of the problem and they are working on a solution. My dealer checks for updates on cars they service with a problem but no resolution. They keep on it until they have a solution to the problem. The EVAP system has something to do with the fuel system that monitors moisture content.

Mustang's and CEL's just dont mix

My CEL on my 2000 V6 went off all the time. I've had my CEL come on once around 1000 miles on my 06 GT, but I reset the battery because I think it was because I didn't turn over my engine on one start and it died (let up on the key early) and I haven't seen it come on since. GL though, I know how much CEL's suck!

Default RE: Check Engine Light

Here is what caused the Check Engine Light to come on:

Code: P0456

Explanation: Some 2005-2006 Mustang vehicles may exhibit a P0456 DTC and MIL illumination. If diagnostic procedure fails to locate an Evaporative system leak, clear the MIL and release the vehicle to the customer. Do not replace any components. Engineering is investigating and will inform the filed of further updates.
