Default Trunk mat

I have seen pictures of a stang with the inside of the trunk lid carpeted. He had cut it out himself, has anyone else done this? Also, where can I get the trunk fabric to do this project myself? I was considering having the word "stang" cut out of the fabric, with red leather filling in the letters behind it. Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

They are available here. Mustang Tuning also sells the mats made by Grand Design Mat.

Hi Black06,

Too bad you're so far south, I plan on working on a trunk project this summer. The trunk fabric can easily be found online (use Google or ebay), but you'll also need to make a base to attach the fabric. For that, the easiest way is to do a fiberglass foundation mold. It's not hard, and you get to decide how much of the trunk lid to cover (I personally find that these covers often leave parts of the trunk exposed that could easily be covered), and doing the lettering and all is easy.

Pick up some how-to vids on custom stereo installs. You'll probably end up spending more on these than if you just got a pre-made mat. But then again, you'll be in a position to do anything else you like (I've done custom speaker enclosures, trunk linings, etc.), and get it done the way you want it. Plus, it's fun.

Best,
-j

check out Sowaxeman's project, cheep, quick and easy. https://mustangforums.com/m_598717/m.../tm.htm#599309 looks good too! I plan on doing it when it gets warm here again.
