Default CDC Chin Spoiler ?

I'm considering getting a Classic Chin Spoiler from CDC, but can't decide which would be better... raw painted to match the car (black) or the textured black one. Would the textured black one look right on a black car? I like the smooth look I would get if I got one and had it painted to match, but would it be more prone to having the paint get scratched or chipped?

osfan82: I have had the spoiler for a month now. No chips or scratches are on it. But I'm very careful of curbs and such. IMO, I like the look of the spoiler matching the body color. However, if you're looking to do a 69 Mach 1, then the textured black would be more appropriate.

I'm going for that '69 mach 1 look. Is just gonna take me a while to do it though. So texture black it is.

Painted; I would recommend Agressive over Classic; I'll be putting on my spare oem fascia with agressive (all in yellow) soon.

Anybody happen to have a pic of the textured black? Compared to the raw black would be awesome!

Why would you say aggressive over classic? - and - Do you know what fascia modifications are required with the aggressive?

The aggressive looks flatter and like it sitcks out futher - I wish I could see one in person before I order.

Agressive juts forward 2" beyond OEM but is no lower than OEM (save for the 3/4" in the center where the OEM bumper has cut away) I don't know the corresponding dimensions of the Classic but who knows they may be greater. Agressive may mean that you have to cut out some of your bumper (I was lucky to get a spare front bumper for $100 + $60 ship, so I'm keeping the OEM aside for now) The fit is very good. It is more of an integrated piece; and you get the lower "mouth" opening as seen in the yellow one on CDC's site. I just took a dozen pics of my completed install/prep today (about to install as a completed "seam free" unit on the car, but I'm having it painted yellow and it will then be painted off the car.) To me the Classic looks like it's an attachment; and I prefer the one piece, one unit look in matching color. I can send the pics along to you (just send me your EMail addr); there are some things you should do in the install beyond what CDC says; There are 2 screws that will be visible on the inner sides of the lower opening(you can barely see them on the CDC site; I have a solution to that so you will not see these bolt holes in my pics of the ready to paint unit. I was able to puchase for $225 with free shipping) ...Jim

I almost bough one yesterday at the columbus swap meet...its a nice piece, fit looks good, but it was like 240-270, and for a simple plastic piece, I just couldnt do it yet...I'm pretty sure there will be something coming out for less. I did pick up their sequentials and my son wanted their painted pony so bad I just couldnt say no- hes so proud of that pony...wasnt something I wanted to do, but he was just too excited about it.
the guy I talked to said their black one if scuffed up can just be touched up with a can of bumper black touchup, and it blends right in- something to think about if you ever pull in to a bad approach- I tore up my 85 camaros airdam the first day I had it pulling in to work- had no idea the car was that low...
I also got a set of new black takeoff rockers for 40 bucks- and they just fit in the car with one rear seat down...it was after buying those I just couldnt see the spoiler price...I'll probably get one sooner or later, but I betcha theres gonna be a bunch of options soon- thats a awfully high profit item there...lucky for me they had sold out of shakers or the wife woulda killed me when I got home... its not cheep but looks great and 'has enough parts to it' that it dont seem that overpriced. CDC's got a lot of nice stuff, lot of neat ideas.
