Anyone know an easy way to get that dang dealership sticker/emblem (mines a sticker) off your car without damaging the paint or leaving behind any residue.
Cool thanks. I cant stand those stupid dealership stickers they put on the trunk. I'm taking it off and putting a nice Mustang emblem there. Hope it works!
Use a hair dryer and heat it up, peel 'er off. Go slow, and heat it up good. TRY not to use ANY type of CHEMICALS. Body shops use "HEAT GUNS" to do this.
Nope it's not an emblem right now, it's just a 2" x 4" sticker above the left tail light on the trunk. it's an ugly blue sticker with the delaerships name on it. I have a Satin Silver 2006 and I want to get it of so i can put on a sweet emblem from ssinserts (they just use 3M automotive adheisive tape for that.
FYI - I ALWAYS tell the dealer NOT to put their sticker/decal, etc. on the car. If it's on already I tell them to take it off. I'm spending enough money there, I don't need to advertise their dealership for free. I've never had a problem with this, no one's ever wanted to lose a sale over it. As a compromise I'll tell them if they want to put on dealership license plate frames, that's OK (knowing I'm going to junk them anyway).
My dealership's tag was done with individual letters, heh. THAT was fun to get off. I just peeled and peeled until they were all off. Then I just washed the area a number of times with water and some car wash soap until the residue was gone. Not too bad......and looks WAY better without any extra lettering cluttering up the rear deck.
