What body style do you like the best? The GT500 or GT

That ugly hood and the crooked looking shelby lettering on the back of the GT500 do nothing for me. If it had looked like the concept, then yes. As is, I prefer the GT hands down.

The GT500 just doesent look the part to me. The GT looks good, still some things I would change (needs chrome for one thing), but overall it looks good.
I was considering the gt500 but ended up ordering a GT this week instead. I figure I can make it as fast as I want or leave it stock, or trade up for the gt500 if market conditions allow.
The GT500's nose seems to ruin the car. The hood on the GT is too tall as it is IMO. Then as I understand it they made it taller on the 500. Rear spoiler aint bad but I like the aftermarket retro tails better. Shelby lettering and badging doesent bother me. The GT500 wheels look a tad too modern for my tastes.
Also, I dont understand the thinking on the rocker mouldings. Black on the V6, painted on the GT, then black again on the GT500. Then they kind of took the retro theme out of the interior and changed the silkscreening on the cluster. Nice thing is they moved the tach to a better spot on the right.
Has a nice motor and a 6-speed (which should have been a GT option for fun). Though I dont get Fords facination with supercharging. Build a large displacment motor and boost becomes unessicarry.
All in all the GT500 is pretty well done and at 40 grand would have been attractive had they been availible. But when dealers are only getting one or so each this year due to Fords BS, and they are asking 60 grand for the car with the "market adjustment", if I was going to spend that much I would rather go get a Z06 for an extra 5 grand.
Even at 50 grand, you have to really be a diehard mustang enthusist to shell out that much cash for that car. Even at that price it may be a performance bargin so to speak, but the dealers and Fords limited production really dampens the car. Wonder how many customers Ford dealers scare away a year with their price gouging.
