g tech pro meter
hey guys, i just got my g-tech pro meter ss today and i went out to try it and came out with a 6.0 sec 0-60. Its definately not right i know that, but i need to know what the redline and how much the car weighs stock. thanks
The GVWR is Gross Vehicle Weight Rating which is the max load the axles can support. The actual spec weight is about 3450 for the GT, 3300 for the V6, which is ready to drive with fluids, minus driver.
Thats wrong.
GVWR. Or gross vehicle weight rating, is the maximum load the car can carry (including its own weight) with four passengers and cargo of a given amount.
Curb weight. Is what you are after, but it is without driver and usually without fluids (I think).
Curb weight should be availible from alot of sources. Best way is to go to a scale, weigh the car and add your weight. I think stick GT's without the shaker 1000 are approx 3450. Not sure though.
A quick and dirty way of getting the approximate curbe weight is to subtract the cargo capacity with passengers and luggage from the GVWR.
So, if the GVWR is 4000. And Max payload with passengers is 600. Your curb would be roughly 3400+ driver a nominal 50 lbs for other stuff.
I havent ran my G-tech RR on the mustang yet. Nice toy but in truth it is a pita. Unless you are able to come to a dead stop on a highway ramp with a clear level stretch in front of you, and no one coming up the ramp doing 50 ready to rear end you at any moment, which I usually cant do, it is kind of useless for anything but 0-60 times.

A buddy of mine had one of those in his car when ran the quarter mile strip at Island Dragway in NJ a few years ago.
The 1/4 mile ET on his G-Tech was off by 3 tenths. Since he spun the rear tires of his procharged camaro halfway down the track, his torque figures on the G-tech were way off.
Those G-Tech thingys are expensive. Let me borrow yours so I dont have to buy one.[8D]
