I need some help please
I had this great idea for shift *****.
I found NFL themed billiard ***** on ebay, and thought they would be great, for those who love the NFL.
So, I picked up a Seahawks (my team), and a Raiders (my friend up in Oregon's team).
The Raider one is gonna look way cool.
It's silver, with the Raider shield.
His car is black, with a grey interior.
......and he has no idea I'm doing this.
My problem:
I have no idea how to drill and tap (?) these *****.
I called MRT, since they make a similar style ****, to see Iif I could send them in, and have them do it.
I was willig to pay full price for one of theirs, just to have them done there, but it looks like they can't or won't do this.
So, I don't know where to start.
What type of business should I call, to see if they can do this?
Any suggestions on what to do?

RE: I need some help please
you need to search this and the other forum. There is a guy who is making eight-ball shift ***** (some 9s and 5s too), and he could for sure tell you how to drill and tap the ball for mounting. He has made a bunch of them.

Ok I can help you out here. This information has been passed down the forums from member to member, and I shall pass it on to you as it was passed on to me many moons ago.
I used a 15/32" bit and 12.5mm tap to make this:
It fits perfectly.

It's actually pretty easy if you have a small drill press. I drilled a hole in a peice of wood and used that as a base, using the hole to keep the ball centered. I'd offer to drill them for you but I wouldn't want to mess them up.
You'll also want to get a washer and a nut to go under the upper lip of the shift boot and hold it up, you can also adjust the nut to line up the logo the way you want.

I made a couple wired up with LEDS, even one that had an RGB led (like MyColor) in it but it's just too much work and they'd be too expensive to be worth selling (you wouldn't believe what a simple potentiometer goes for these days,) but if anyone is interested in a clear one I'd be happy to whip another batch. From time to time the supplier of these acrylic ***** gets them in a clear red, I was going to ****** up a few next time he does.

I've seen a lot of variations on the cue-ball design, my original not-original **** is a red cue-ball with the pony logo on it. The 2.25" ball is the way to go. It's just so much easier to get a grip on, I never miss a shift with this thing.
But it sounds like this is kind of a special project and it would make for an awesome gift so I'm hoping this dude can get the help he needs.

The problem with the handheld drill is that you have to work it pretty slowly, or the plastic starts to burn or the bit gets all f***ed up. You might be able to do it with a regular power drill, but you would want to have a couple of extra "blanks" in case you messed the first one up.
