Default dash kit question

I want a CF dash kit after seeing one in a roush. Only problem is I have the IUP with the brushed aluminum dash. All the kits I find cover only the flat part of the dash and not the base of the airvents. So what can I do to keep it from looking tacky? Paint them or something? Sure wish the dark grey IUP was available in 05...

Default RE: dash kit question

I think if you took your time, painting the bases would be a good idea, try getting some thin vinyl and make some cut outs 1st to see what it would look like.. If you have a dirt racing fab shop near you they may be able to make you some contoured cut outs. Also, check with Exotic Woodash in Phoenix, if you send it to them, they may be able to coat it for you.

The more I think about it, the thin black or charcoal vinyl wrapped around those, and seamed at the bottom (outta sight) might do the trick, make sure it has some texture to match the dash and steering wheel.

Pick up a foot or two at the fabric shop for a few bucks, and experiment with it.

Let me know how it turns out.

That's all I know.
