Default Xenon Hood Scoop Installed......

Alright guys, due to another Lime 05 in my small town, I was forced to do something. Until I find a hood that looks like the 07 Shelby, I'll have to settle for this scoop that I bought off of Ebay. I painted it myself and it installed easily. It was less than $100. My stripe guy was suposed to get it striped today, but it looks like I'll have to wait till next Wednesday! Also installed my shorty antenna. I cant wait for my new wheels!!!!.......

Where did you get the paint? How close is the match? Are you going to cut out under the scoop and make it functional? Can you get a closer side shot? Want to see how it fits. From those pictures it looks as though it sits a little off of the hood. Would like to get a better idea of the way they look.

here's a few closer pics. The paint is Diamont base/clear. It matches perfectly! Its a shame cause all your gonna see when the stripes are on is about two inches down the middle. and the scoop is all the way against the hood. ...No gap. If you dont think you can paint, you can buy one already painted from some sources on Ebay.

Rather than striping the scoop, what about painting it black to match the stripes? Just a thought...

the stripes have a semi-flat or satin finish. I'm not sure I could get the same look. I can get it striped for $45.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I had been looking at that scoop on ebay for a while but the pictures on ebay don't give you a very good idea as to how it will look.

Is the front of the scoop open? It looks like there is some type of a plate covering it. I was wandering if it would be possible to remove it so if you cut a hole in the hood, it will be functional.

Thanks again for the pictures, it looks great.

It wouldn't truly be "functional" unless you figured out how to connect the hole in the hood to your air intake inlet. Just air coming in on top of the intake manifold doesn't make it functional.

The scoop is a one piece molded rubber type material. Yes, you could cut it..... but, I agree that it would be hard to make it functional. Hey, you may be more creative than me though. Let me know. And I agree that the pics of this product on Ebay suck. I figured the name brand made it worth the "Buy it Now" price of $79.99.
