Rear spring change

RE: Rear spring change
Hell yeah all you need is to:
1- jack up the rear and put it on stands.
2-Place the jack under whatever side your disconnecting first just so it applies a little pressure.
3-Disconnect the sway bar links on both sides (so you can swing it out of the way)
4-Disconnect lower shock bolt on the side your working on only
5-Lower the jack and swing the sway bar out of the way.
6-Once down remove the spring and swap it out then lift that side back up with the jack and connect the lower shock bolt.
7-Go to the other side and repeat steps 4-6.
8-Lift it back up tighten shock bolt and reconnect the sway bar on both sides.
*Thats it. Took me about 45 minutes with just hand tools. Hope that helps

RE: Rear spring change
I put my Roush springs on in about an hour. As others have pointed out it's very easy. Just need a jack and jack stand. In addition to the other instructions given I would also remove the bracket holding the brake line to the body. It will give you some more room to drop the axle so you don't damage the brake line.

Good thing is you dont have to use the panbar. My allignmarnt did not change one bit. The brake line is your choice to move not really necessary since there is plenty of play in the line but whatever makes you comfortable. And yeah 3/4 of inch is what mine dropped.

I didn't see the need to remove the sway bar or the brake line bracket but if it helps, go ahead. ...good instructions folks!!
Just for your own info, ..measure rear alignment before install and (after install/test drive). ...it's simple. (Make sure you test drive and recheck everything)
Let us know when you have pics. You won't dislke the ride but will love the "corrected look". Say how much are these springs (I went with Pro Kit; and didn't do fronts)

RE: Rear spring change
They were 125 shipped to the door. You were able to lower the axle enough to remove the springs without disconnecting the sway bar links? Doesn't sound right? If so that would definately be a harder way of doing this project. I strongly recommend disconnecting the 4 bolts that hold on the sway bar.

RE: Rear spring change
Or you could just rent a spring compressor from your local auto parts store, compress the springs ( very important the claws are ALL the way on the spring), slide em out, compress your new spring, install, loosen compressor and bam that corner is done. Last set of springs I did on a buddies stang took me 20minutes to do all 4 with the spring compressor.
