My 2006 GT Coupe also makes a similar noise. Much different from the 2005 V6 Coupe I had. I notice the noise the most when I back out of the driveway and hit the gutter at the road.
I was alarmed at first, but realized it is something you deal with due to a tight suspension. My guess is it is one of the bushing compression in either the control arms or the sway bars. I'm not sure, I do not know much about suspension.

is there a TSB on those strut mounts? did it sound like something was loose when you hit a little bump?

yes it did sound like something was loose.. also I believe the strut mounts used TTL bolts I had to wait an extra week becuase they didn`t have any in stock....
It really surprised me to have the mounts shot after such a short period of time

Yes I had mine replaced too last summer, there is a tsb on it. Do a search and you should find it.

I found that the source of my "clunk" was due to a loose nut on the endlink (Upper) connection to the struts. At any speed when I would hit slight bump or just minor differences on the road, a fairly load sound as if something was loose. I re-torqued the nuts to the upper connections where the endlinks attach to the stuts and the noise has never returned. That was over a year ago.
