Default Question about Perellis

In my days driving Mustangs, they were all delivered with Good Year Gatorbacks, and most of us were'nt really happy with them. Now we're on Perellis. Are we going to find out that we don't like these either? If you want to throw your two cents in, let me know what you think of your stock Perellis, and if you replaced them, did you stay with Perelli, and what did you think of your replacement tire (whatever you chose) vs. the Perelli.

I've only had my car for about 1000miles but I liked the P's enough to order 255/45/18 PZero Nero's to put on my new wheels. Only time will tell if their worth keeping.

only 2 bad things I can say about pirellis- neither are really bad:

1) they pick up stones BAD if its hot outside
2) they wheelhop severely if spun in the rain- amazing they get that kind of traction though in the rain

at the rate Ive been abusing mine, might need a set and a clutch by fall

I keep spinning and chirping mine. And sometimes, I will take a corner really fast without the traction control on, or with it on, and the rear will slide a little, so I can pretty much see my own taillights. And sometimes they squeal a little bit louder than my passenger.

Does this mean the tires are bad?

I only got 460mi on mine. I just went out and looked..... yup, there's stones in them. (92 in OH today) But, I'll be damned the front tires still have the wiskers in the tread. But, they're gone on the back. WTF, how could this be ?

I don't have any problems with the Pirelli's that came stock on mine. They have 26,000 miles on them with plenty of tread life left on them. Most of the miles are highway going back & forth to work.I replaced them with the Nitto 555 because I wanted the 18" tire/wheel combo.

Yeah mine pick up stones. I think for a all season tire they do well. They aren't great for the track but, like them on the street. Leejay where in OH are you from? I'm a lil east of Cincy.

Yeah the stone problem is annoying. Riding with the windows down you you can hear the ticking of the little pebbles. Not to bad though. They do grip really well. I've slid mine through a tight right hand, up hill turn doing about 55-60(speed limit was 15) and the hole car just slid through the turn. All I could hear was the tires wailing. It was awesome.
