MB Quart
A nice 4 channel amp will wake up any system. Even one with a stock head unit. But I wouldent know where to put it. I like my audio stuff out of sight, totally hidden, not taking up space and being obvious. Maybe somewhere near the spare would work. Or mounted under the rear package tray or something.
For now the shaker 500 is working pretty well for me. I just miss the solid mids and crisp highs I have in my other car with a nicer aftermarket setup.

I was doing some research today. I was trying to figure out a way to put components up front without cutting my doors or pillars. I didn't realize that the Scoshe adapter for the 6x8 to 5.25 conversion puts in a provision for the tweeter on the bracket. Has anyone done this? The one reason I was looking at the MB Quart was it's component to coax ability, but if the bracket does work the way it is advertised that opens the market way up. If anyone has mounted a tweeter on this type of bracket please let this car audio beginner know the details? Thanks
My car came with the Shaker 500, but I replaced everything but the rear deck speakers. I left them stock, running off of the head unit, just as fill in, mostly because I think the better sound systems out there sound best with the music staged from in front of you. However, when I get some spare change available I'll probably swap them out for some JL Audio 5x7's like I have in the front. The system we put it together is as follows:
Head Unit: Pioneer 8600 (AM/FM/XM, CD, built in EQ, too many other things to list)
Front Speakers: JL Audio WO 8" woofers in the factory door woofer spot, JL Audio XR 5"x7" coax / seperates (I installed them together as coax's in the factory door spots to avoid any cutting), both sets driven by a Clarion APA 4320 amp, rated @ 160w x 4
Rear Speakers: Factory, driven by head unit
Subs: Two Phoenix Gold 10" Octane subwoofers in ported enclosure run by MTX 401D 500w amp.
This setup sounds great in the car. It thumps pretty well, obviously not as good as when you fill the whole trunk up with two 12"s or two 15"s in a gigantic box, but it works. The only problem I noticed is that the 8" woofers in the front doors tend to vibrate things quite a bit if you turn the bass up too much. That's a problem I think you could live with though, especially since the subs in the trunk handle the really low frequency range. The doors sound good enough though that even if I needed to take the box out for any reason (e.g., long trip that requires trunk space) I still have a lot more bass than the factory setup.
So this is in reply to: "If anyone has mounted a tweeter on this type of bracket please let this car audio beginner know the details?" The JL Audio XR 5x7's work perfectly in the doors setup as coax's with no cutting. The installer told me they tried 3 or 4 different brands this way but this was the only one that they carried that fit flawlessly.

Thanks I will check out the JL's. I still would like to run round speakers, so if anyone knows of any other coax 5.25" other than the MB's or JL's that fit please pass the info along. I also am still intereasted in tweeter placement without cutting if I go the component route. Thanks
I fabricated my own mounting plates for my speakers, I put the 6.5" where the sub from the shaker was and the tweeter in the spot where the 5x7's were. I used 1/4" MDF and some foam tape to ensure a good seal. I also mounted the amp on a tray under the rear deck. So I still have room in the trunk. I didn't take any pictures of the plates but I do have a pic of my trunk. I need to cut down the brackets to pull the amp up higher.
