I jus read in a motor trend article about the new cobra's and they where sayin how ford is gonna quit makin GT mustangs, I read it several times and it said ford was dropping the GT!!!!! Sum1 please put me in the right direction because I am realllllllllyy P.O'ed right now!!! Help me out here guys! thanks ( the motor trend was the latest one out if u wanna check it!)

 

No, that's the Ford GT, not the Mustang GT. Ford is not going to make the Ford GT anymore. They never planned on making it more than a few years.

 

+1 They sell WAY to many Mustang GTs to discontinue them

 

I was gonna say no wonder ford ist doing so good financially if they have people making choices like discontinuing the mustang GT!

 

Actually the real reason for is dropping the GT is not because of sales or just to make it a very short run car, it's because in 2007, the government is changing the rules regarding the bumpers on car and the GT doesn't measure up. Rather than do a re-design on a car that would make it look less like the classic GT-40 which it mimics, they desided to drop the platform and just let the GT pass on as a great American Supercar.

 

They are making the GTX I do belive its a top off version ot the GT they
auctioned off one of the first production numbers at Barret Jackson in Florida
and as far as the Mustang GT its safe

 

Yeah the GTX is so sweet. I got to sit in it at Barrett Jackson.

you guys are crazy..i WISH they would discontinue the mustang gt's.....it would make our cars that much more valuable......then we could all agree we own a classic car.....and when it comes time to sell it..you wouldnt lose that much
