Default SHAKER 1000 - IT'S JUNK

Thanks to the forum members here.

I've posted recently for advice on options. I'm just about to order a 2007 GT convertible, and I was predisposed to getting all the options including a Shaker 1000. However, seems virtually every post on this board was negative on the 1000. That forced me to really think about it.

Anyway, this weekend went to yet another dealer. Had 2 GT's side by side, one with a 500 and one with a 1000. Same music.

My wife and I went from car to car. Then we sat in the GT with the 1000 and toggled the subwoofer on and off for a number of songs. That is possible thru the menu button.

Well, you guys were right. It was a piece of junk. With the exception of some ultra low bass rap music (I'm guessing), I just don't see the value or more importantly, the quality of sound. When we toggled the subwoofer on and off, there was absolutely NO difference in the sound. NONE.

So kudo to you guys. Really don't understand Ford here. The $1,295 MSRP Shaker 1000 is such a ripoff it isn't even comical.

That's funny...When I toggle the shaker on or off on my car, there is a very large difference in sound.

Might depend on the type of music one listens to???
