1. Bring engine to operating temperature
2. Place car in first, increase RPM to 2500-3000, and release clutch abruptly
3. Increase RPM to 5500-5900, then shift to second
4. Repeat step 3 three times
5. Bring vehicle to stop gradually and shift to first
6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 for 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first
7. Trade in on new Mustang

I've just passed the 1K mark. I'm about to change the oil. I read that Ford starts 'em out with semi synth. Is that what I should use for the 1st? I will go to full synth on the 2nd.

I worry about the car getting rained on and then I'm going to "thrash it"? No way...Fire her up, and roll gently down the highway. Pat the dashboard when you back her into the garage and remind her "how much of a fine machine she is".

Thanks for the welcome and advice on breaking in the car. I figured I would get a wide range of answers but I'm going to take the safer route and take it easy for a while. I cant wait to get the car already, only 12 more hours. [8D]

This is what Tom at AMP out of Arizona told me.
Be easy on it for the first 500 miles.
Change oil and filter at 1000 using regular oil or a blend
Change oil and filter at 2000 using regular oil or a blend
Change oil and filter at 5000 using full synthetic
Hope that helps.
