I know this has been posted before but I cant find it. What size are the rear factory 06 mustang speakers?

The rear speakers are the same size as the front door speakers. 5x7.

As Crazy Al stated, they are 5X7. But a 6X8 will fit also

Standard Ford issue 6X8's - a size common to many Fords. Don't buy the 5X7/6X8 universal fits - they are smaller - only get ones labelled only 6X8.

Will replacing the speakers improve the sound quality? Last time I upgraded speakers and left in the factory head unit, the new speakers made the head unit sound awfull. It took about 10 seconds before I walked back in and dropped more $ on a good head unit and amp.
Anyone replaced and happy? What did you purchase?

No i replaced the head unit and the factory shaker 500 speakers sound awesome with my alpine head unit.
