Depends on which one you get. Some are more plug and play than others. The meter4it kit is probbably the most involved, as it involves quite a bit of light moving and wireing. BUT, it is also the most flexible. It is the only one that offers chase and sequential, and also leaves the option to change back to stock looks with just a jumper.

The CDC and Web electric I think are pretty similiar, just uses a modified stock harness, if I remember correctly, (someone correct me if I am wrong).

That is a link to a video of what the sequential signals look like. I have them on my '05 stang, and they look really good. I get people all the time who will run up next to me and give me the thumbs up sign after I have changed lanes.

Ok so what were you doing when both of the taillights were blinking at the same time? That is not the way the brake lights work is? Constantly flashing??? Seems to me that could be very dangerous, since that appears to me to be the emergency flashers.

Guys, you are paying too much. I bought 2 sets from M&M Electronics, contact teddy044@juno.com for $100. He sells them for $59.95 plus S&H. He got them to me in just a few days. They were easy to install. You guys reallt need to check out the stick for Non-Performance Accessories. [sm=alcoholic.gif]

No, no, that wasn't the brakes, that WAS the emergency flashers. The brakes lights continue to function normally. I agree with you, that wouldn't be safe if the brakes flashed sequencally.

(BTW, that wasn't my car, just a link to a video of the lights. =)

I bought the kit from http://www.webelectricproducts.com/ .

Great site, and his customer service was excellent. I went that kit because it involved no wire splicing. He uses factory Ford wiring harnesses and splices the sequentails on them before shipping them out. All you have to do is replace your factory wiring harness. I am not mechanically inclined AT ALL, and I did mine in about an hour. Now that I have done one, I could do it again in about 30 minutes.

Anyone can install the CDC kit, it is mindlessly easy.

I love mine and get lots of compliments. When I'm in traffic I can often see people behind me pointing and talking about the sequentials, especially if I lane changed in front of them at some point.

The CDC set up is the one to get. Very easy install in no time! Did mine myself while hubby was working on his own car.

I just got the splice-in kit in the mail from webelctric and will be putting it in tomorrow. It's the cheaper one that invlves a little more work. I cant wait, it's gonna be really cool. I was planning on posting how the install goes afterwards.

I agree with what superiormirage said, webelectric had really great customer service and the kit got here way fast. Not to knock on CDC, I have never dealt with them.

I went with the 4Meter ones...

They are pretty awesome in the fact they "Chase" instead of just sequence...

Also... the Sequence ON when you hit the brake.. then sequence off when you release the brake..

The flashers chase constant when they are turned on.

I went with the webelectric ones. It is my understanding that those are the only ones that allow you to disable the brake light sequence by running two wires to the drivers side kickpanel.

He will supply the extra parts for free.

I installed them but did not disable the brake light feature. The bracke sequence is acutally not that bad. They just quickly sequence from inside to out then stay solid when you brake.

They took only a few minutes to install.

And they also sequence when you arm the car. Looks cool at night. If you disable the brake light function, it may kill the sequence when arming as well. I am not sure.
