Default whipple SC versus Kenne Bell SC - who's better????

ok, so i thought i was sold on the Kenne bell but then i heard some people talkin about kenne bells not being as reliable as whipples. The performance is the same for me - so thats not it. i want to know which one is more reliable and durable.

any opinions from owners of either are appreciated!

Thanks!!

the whipple s/c isnt out yet, and to my knowledge there are only about 3 installed in cars outside of whipple, one being lethal performance. that said how can anyone judge its reliability if they do not have it

it is supposed to be a good unit though

Previous models are apples and oranges. Completely different cars with completely diffrerent results and all the stock s/c stangs came with roots style blowers.

By the time the whipple does come out it will make no more power with the included kit than the saleen. Either way, I'm a KB fan.

My KB makes crazy power. The install is pretty straightforward and the instruction manual (all 200 pages with pictures for each step) is pretty good. I'm still having problems with the check engine light, but the car runs fine.

yea, im gonna stick with the Kenne Bell, to me it sounds like they put out a great product that wont leave me stranded on the side of the road. It also seems like a great company to buy from.

i cant wait - exhaust comes first, but then bring on the KB!!!

Twin-screw SCs seem more complex to install and debug. Ripping out parts like the stock manifold seems unnecessary, given that centrifugal SCs make as much HP as a twin screw, and are more easily installed without throwing out a lot of parts. SCs have all kinds of theoretical advantages, but 500 HP is 500 HP, no matter how you get there. A lot of the twin-screw threads on this board seem to end with - "check engine is on."

Maybe, but a a couple guys with centrifugals I spoke to had seal leaks and cracked housings. I also hear stuff now and then about belts flying off. So really no one can say for sure.

But if Ford ever releases the whipple kit, I would like to put more faith in that than other aftermarket guys. But the manufactures racing divisions dont always do the best thing either.

Mopar performance parts are really becoming a joke.
