Do you paint these hoods or them them as is? Also, how heavy is the stock hood on the GT?

 

basically, unless you get like a cowl or vented CF hood, the bennefit is that its just lighter. if you get a cowl or vented hood, you obviously will have some added cooling bennefits. i dont know the weight of the stock hood, but you deffinatly paint these to match, your driving a mustang not a honda civic.

 

The stock hood is aluminum and only weighs 25 lbs. So don't count on saving a hell of alot of weight by going with carbon fiber...........unless every pound counts to you.

 

I was under the impression that only the 05 hoods were aluminum. The 06 has metal hoods.

Never heard anything about that. Well, my 05 has an aluminum hood. If the 06's have steel hoods......this would be the first I hear of it.

 

Yeah our hood is very big.. and Im sure if it was steel it would be alot heavier than the.. 15 lbs or so.
