Default 5-speed Automatic ?

Auto Transmission question.

I've already searched the forum and could not find an answer to this question.
For the Transmission in the 06 Mustang, Ford advertises it as a 5-speed Automatic. The transmission also has Overdrive. SO i am figuring that it have 5 speeds + OD. But from what i have found out about the transmission online, it looks to actually be a four speed transmission+OD. (with the OD being the 5th gear).

So my question: Which is right? Is the AutoTrans in the 05-06 Mustang?:

4-speed + OD

or

5-speed + OD

P.S. New to the forum, just bought a Legend Lime V6 + Pony Package on Friday. Extremely Happy

It is a 5-speed so that would mean it has 4 gears plus OD. Just like a 5 speed manual transmission.

Thank you.

That is what I thought would be the answer.

A five speed plus od is what they should offer, however it is 4 + od = 5sp

Yeah... one of the reasons i asked was because some of their advertising is deceptive. In one spot they actually say "an Optional 5 speed Automatic with OD", which I take to mean 5+1.

deceivers![:@]

oh well...i still love it!!

Should be a two speed....

1) Wide-Open
