Headrest embroidery
I read a few posts a few months back that some of you have had the galloping pony embroidered on your headrests. I want to get mine done, but how the hell do you get the headrest off? Pressing the release button only allows you to bring it to the top of it's ratchetted travel and that's it. I then thought the cover itself was a Velcro fit from under the headrest material itself, struck out there to.......So those of you who've had it done.....What's the secret, turn that Ford bulb on someone????
I got the headrest wraps, I didn't have to remove the headrests and as a bonus I get to transfer them to the GT when it arrives
Hmmmm, I can't seem to find a pic on here. I like the look of the wraps themselves (in addition to the embroidery), it gives some added detail to the headrests.

The co. that makes the wraps got dinged by fORD for using copyrighted symbols so the have or are in the process of doing new designs. They no longer have the running pony or the tri bar available. I just posted the other day looking for someonewho had a set of black leather tri bar wraps that they might want to sell. I dont really like the new design that they replaced the tri bar with
I read from someone else that there is a small hole on the inside or the back of the headrest supports that you depress with a pin or something and theres a clip underneath to take the cover off. www.headrestembroidery.com does them if you send them the covers for like 30 bucks each, and you can get whatever color you want. Hope all goes well. If you get them, remember to post pics, I want to see how they come out. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
Correct, when I replaced my seat covers/headrests, theres small hole on one of the headrest mounts per seat. I would use a paper clip (or in my case a WD-40 straw lol) to insert in the hole while pushing the button in. It might also be helpful to fold your seat forward beacause its a tight space to remove the headrest.
Thanks for the info Nonstopred, but unfortunately having checked every inch of the headrest, alas I have to say, no hole. So I have come up with a better idea. I have purchased some window vinyl clear graphics of the horse and I am going to trace this onto the headrest, then with white upholstery dye paint trace the design with a paint brush.
On the drivers headrest for the back of it I will also paint ' THE LEGEND LIVES..... Then on the passenger back of it's headrest it will read ON...AND ON........ Before finally starting this I shall put paper templates on so I can see what it will look like before I start the real thing in paint. Total cost excluding my time and a case of beer.....$11.95
Will post pix when finished.

Well Nonestopred I have to apologize to you, you were told correctly, there is a little hole in the plastic base surround on the inside support rod ( the outside one has the release button for adjustment. ) A small finishing nail pushes a spring pin and Hey Presto it slides off. This hole in the plastic surround faces the passenger seat. I was looking on the actual metal rods thinking the hole would be in there.
I am still going to go with my original idea of using the template and fabric paint for the horse and lettering, finding the release and removing the headrest will now make it a lot easier to paint both while they are laying horizontal on the bench. As I said once finished I will post the pix. Now it's Miller time........[sm=alcoholic.gif]
