Default Scratch question

Hey,

I scraped up the front bumber on the bottom pretty good on a huge *** median today. It definatly went through the paint, but I'm not sure about the rest. I'm pretty new to driving in general, let alone repair. Can anyone give me a best/worse case senario as far as price?

I'd glad I was the first one to scratch it, but still pretty dissapointing as this is the first car I've ever paid for myself. On the up side it's not visible unless you stick your head down there.

That's funny, because I did the same thing going up a driveway that had a sharp dip in it. Small area underneath got scratched. Like you you said, can't see it unless you stick your head under it. Maybe they have Tungsten grey touch up paint at the dealer for us.

If you have to put your head down there, leave it alone for a year or so (may get another nick, etc., or road chips; at some point have bumper cover redone $250-$300 by a prof shop)

Got a huge gash on the bottom of mine, too. I really don't care about it. I did a crappy touch up job with my touch up pen and I was done with it. Not underneath my car enough for that to bother me.

I park away from those things. Give yourself space. Even with these little strip mall businesses. You know the ones with Subway.Wine & Spirits etc. They have that sidewalk in front which is higher than the parking lot. They really suck. When I park in front of Subway, I'm like 2 or 3 feet away from the sidewalk.

+1 I learned that early. What I hate is my few friends/relatives that live in subdivisions with a driveway at like a 40 degree angle, almost impossible not to scrape going in or out, but not a good enough neighborhood to leave it in front. [&:]

Agreed! Best to leave as is. Sooner or later something is bound to happen again.....Sorry to hear that dood, but next time use more caution.
