Default Ride Quality

Is there a lost of ride quality when switching from 17 inch bullits to the optional 18 inch tires and wheels? Thanks.

I noticed the difference when I went from the 16" premium (215/65/16) tires/wheels to the 17" (235/55/17) GT takeoffs.

Even though it is a stiffer ride, I think it handles better.

Here's a good article about how wheel weight affects your ride and handling

Have a great day.

The short answer is yes, but the definition of ride quality varies so wildly from person to person, your best bet would be to go to the dealer and drive one with 18s. Although, there is almost no way you could be disappointed to any worthwhile degree unless you already think the car is at all too harsh.

I have the optional 18's and there is no "in your face" difference between them and the 17's that I test drove...

It is a little stiffer - not sure I would pass true blind test though and I drove both within hours of eachother.

The "handling issues" with the car, IMHO are far more noticeable in the rest of the suspension...

I have some parts on the way (no idea if will fix it - but they are a start I hope), but I can tell you that hitting bad highway at speed on a curve can be unpleasant... (particularly if you have a false sense of confidence from how well the car holds on good roads...)

Just drove home from Logan (Boston) and 93 is full of Franken-Seams... Each time I hit one, I was reminded about the issues mentioned by many regarding the Rear behavior... (rear-end squirrels on big bumps).

From what I felt in various test's of the 17's the tires/rims don't really matter to your seat-of-the-pants feel...
