Default FOOSE WHEELS STOPPED PRODUCTION

Well, i talked to newstalgia wheel today hoping to order a set of chrome nitrous and some tires. He told me Foose has put all prodution on hold. He said they have been having some manufacturing problems and want to get them straightened out before making any more wheels. This is just wonderful, i finally find a set of wheels i like and now this. I think i can find a set but are their quality problems with these wheels???

really? I have already purchased the gray nitrous wheels through Discount. Everytime the order comes in, the polished lip is mangled beyond recognition. apparently, the MHT company puts the lips on by hand with adhesive. In shipping, the crappy boxes they have don't hold up. I have returned 13 wheels...luckily the guy at Discount is cool, as he hashad to deal with this problem. Also, they had some 22' wheels from the foose line only (MHT) that were horrible as well. I have 3 good whells and am still having difficulty getting the last one. Maybe I should contact Discount, and see if I should wait.

I had heard that MHT may be converting the Nitrous to a 3-piece, which would eliminate this prob.

By the way, the guy helping me at Discount called MHT and they said about 90% of their stock was at least lightly damaged!

All I can say is that the wheels really are gorgeous wheels. Up close, the painted surface on the grays looks well done. Overall the rims seems very well made...it is the lip, however, where the problems begin. I don't want you not to buy the wheels because of my earlier post, but be aware of the issue with shipping.

I am going to call and find out if they are in fact moving to a 3-piece design. Also, I had heard that they may start using a machine to apply the lip evenly, as opposed to by hand.

Let me know if you hear anything...thanks.

I have some Foose wheels and I would say the finish quality is brilliant; show quality chrome. I suspect the wheels are heavy but they should be strong since they are carved out of billet. I was looking at the amount of weight on the insides of my wheels. I am assuming this is due the tires and not the wheels. I would think with them being billet, being out of round isnt likely.

I'm not suprised. Foose wheels are really low quaility when it comes to wheels. I perfer a one, or two piece or three piece forged wheel. They are stonger and lighter.

Cast and 1 piece billet are heavy or crack over time. Cast wheels are also really easy to make and only cost the manufacter about $125 per set.

lol...I feel your pain. It took me a few months of thumbing through 100 magazines to find the wheels that caught my eye.
