What is the difference between a canned tune and a tune from a custom shop such as brenspeed or evolution or bamachips?? I have a SCT Xcalibrator 2 and just followed the directions.

a "canned" tune is ANY tune not done with YOUR car on a Dyno. Somer are better than others, but ultimately a vehicle specific dyno tune is best, (as long as the tuner doesn't have his head up his ***).

Read more about the SCT Tuner here:
http://www.sctflash.com/product_xc2.php

There are all sorts of things you can change with the tuners, giving you a custom tune, which should be preferred over a "canned tune". They have a list a dealers and it seems like you might need to go to them to get it done. I guess from reading a few things that it takes a pro tuner to create these custom tunes.

BTW- they are looking for a 2006 GT. If you're in Florida and want a free tuner look here:

Sweeet. I e-mailed SCT to "donate" my car for a free tune. We'll see what happens that would be really cool. Longwood, FL is only like 30 mins away. That would be sweet. If I get it I'll let ya'll know.
