Default Rear End

Can find this post (Redo). I do not have under the hood skills. I putting a SC on my 07 GT. I was told to put a different rear end on right away because the factory one would crap out soon after SC in on. Can someone explain and tell me which one might be the right type. Thanks

That just isn't true. You might want a diffrent one, but the stock one is very strong and unless your using slicks and putting out more HP than the stoch lower part of the engine can handle anyhow your fine.

I had the stock rear end on my 06 with the Saleen S/C, it bogged down on a slow start - went with the 4:10, much better.

The reason why you want to put a lower ratio rear on with an SC is to maximize the power (and investment) of the SC. With a higher gear ratio, you'll hit the meaty part of the torque and HP curves faster (and earlier) because it will force the SC to spin faster. The other guys are right, the stock rear is strong enough.
