Default Shaker1000 Auxillary Input - XM?

Hey, I just noticed the "Aux" button on my Shaker1000 and was wondering if I could plug the line out of my XM radio into that instead of using the crappy built-in FM broadcast.

The only thing I'm wondering about is when you hit the button, it says "no input" or something like that. I'm wondering what the connection in the back looks like. If it's a typical RCA connection, it would be great. But I'm worried that it's for something more specific than a generic audio input.

Any ideas??

You need one of these, or something equivalent... the PIE frd04 adapter.

also www.peripheralelectronics.com has a Ford Aux. The PIE part has been causing codes and air bag lights on cars.

I'm pleased this never happened to mine (running Kenwood Keg -> Aux input)... no warnings, lamps or anything!

Would I do it again.. definitely (but then again, I don't need it now I've got my Pioneer Avic-Z1)
When I removed mine, I installed it into the Wife's Focus wihout any problems

@jay00f4

I've been browsing that page, but I'm having a hard time finding the exact part number or price.

I can't find it either but the part number for an AUX is PXDX2 and a harness PXH2FD1 Retail is around $129 I think. Check that link above for Discount I think they carry it as well as the PIE part.

The early versions of the PIE adapter had issues with having to be unplugged to "reset" them. They came out with a fix for it a short while ago, if the one you are buying is the early version I would check with the mfg to make sure you can get the latest upgrade.

I had the PIE hooked up to my '06 shaker 1000 with no problems. Also had another gizmo that expanded the RCA's to 3 with a toggle switch. That way you could have the XM, MP3 player, and even another RCA capable input all go through the AUX port. All worked great, but then I decided to rip out the shaker and replace head unit and speakers, etc.

Just sitting in a box in my garage. I'll let it go cheap, PM me if interested.

Bill
