Than why on an aftermarket unit can you not turn the sub level up without turning up all the speakers.....Something doesnt make sense in the way they wired these thing. The subs in the rear for the shaker1000 (which I had) should be seperate from the ones in the doors. And if you turn the bass up, everything gets distorted because all the bass levels go up. IMO they wired this thing like **** and should have left everything seperate. I hate that I can't fix this stock system, but I dont want to go blow another grand on new subs and amps and speakers and do a complete re-wire. Anyone know any trick to serperate this crap out ?

Hey eveyone.
Got the unit installed so I wanted to report back:

Basically, everything went off withouth a hitch. The stock front's and Rear's are now powered by my MTX 4 channel amp, and they suprisingly sound good for what I need right now. I may consider swapping out the speakers when I get a chance to sit in an 05 'stang that's done the speakers and compare.

I left the Sub's in the door disconnected. I could connect them, but the factory amps only put out a whopping 12watts RMS power, they just couldn't keep up with the rest of the speakers + 10" sub's in the trunk, so i pulled em.

I'll be posting pics later in a new thread, since I myself looked for someone who had installed a single din deck for the look so now I can show others as well

When you mean the door subs couldnt keep you, did you mean you werent really hearing them or they were distorting when turning up the rest of the system?

I wanted to keep the stock subs, but I was notified they will sound like crap since i'm adding two 12" MTX subs on Monday. I was told if I keep them you have to rewire them and being powered from those tiny factory amps will make everything else sound bad.

I am personally still curious to see how it would sound, so if anyone has done it let me know because I would definately still like to try it.

at low volumes they were working ok filling the cabin with music, but at higher volumes they just can't cope and would just distort. So i just disconnected them
