Default 07 Hood Scoop

Does anyone know if the new hood scoop is bolted to the hood or just applied with dual sided tape?

In the pics I've seen it appears to use those Christmas tree fasteners that Ford likes so much; but yeah, it's attached through the hood.

Do you think that you could apply it with sticky tape without drilling any holes? I don't want to keep it on there for a long time. I just want to make some new decals for the scoop/hood but I don't like it enough to keep it on there. I think I would rather do the roush scoop if I was to do one.

I'm not sure if you thread the bolt into the scoop, or if they're studs sticking out of it (which is more likely). If it's got the studs you'd have to "remove" them somehow, but if it's just a temporary fit, I'm sure you could do double stick tape for a while. Guys do that with those ugly Lund scoops all the time.

So I called Ford today to check on a price for the scoop. First off, the guy barely knew what the heck I was talking about. I hate knowing more about a car than the dealership employees. So after a few minutes of explaining that the 07's have scoops, he finally found a part number. The price for the scoop was $307.00. My first question was, is that painted? Nope, that is ready for paint. Are you kidding? Over $300 and its not even painted.

Yeah, it is way overpriced. There a lot of other scoops that look better than the stock one at a much better price. If anyone has a stock scoop for the 07 GT and want to sell it, just let me know.

I got a quote today for 238 plus 12.00 to ship that was with the 4 bolts that are needed..

just a FYI to look around/call other places before you buy...!!!
