Default Active Alarm sounder

So I ask my ford place about the alarm sounder, and first they had no clue. So they look up the information and here is what it says about the active alarm.

Available Active Anti-theft System
. Engages when locking and arming the vehicle with the remote
transmitter or power door lock switch with a door open
. When all doors are closed, the system monitors doors, hood, trunk,
interior motion and vehicle inclination
. Inclination sensor helps prevent tow-away thefts
. Interior motion sensor helps prevent "smash and grab" break-ins
. Includes a separate alarm sounder plus the vehicle horn
. Also has a 60-amp-hour battery to sound the alarm longer
. Locking the vehicle with the ignition key in the driver's door arms the
doors, hood and trunk, but blocks the motion and inclination sensors
. Use this method if interior motion is expected, during vehicle transport
or when hoisting
. All windows must be closed for proper motion sensing performance

So mine does not seem to have that, they told me to look on the passenger side of the trunk but i can not see it there either. Any of you guys have the active with the extra sounder?

I don't know what you mean by the extra sounder. I have the active anti-theft on my 07. I can bump the car all day without it doing off, but if I open the door it sounds.

Don't know if that is what you were looking for.

The sounder is an alarm siron instead of just the horn going off.

I think that the extra horn for the alarm is located behind the passenger side rear quater trim panel. That's what the shop manual says.

I went through the same issues when I first bought mine. The location Newbreed is giving is what the manual says, but I never found it and finally got sidetracked on other things and never pursued it....

???

Sounds like they are just describing a hardware piece that controls Active antitheft. "Sounder" is confusing.

so in the trunk, on the passenger side you pull the carpet back, and up a little behind a wall you will it sticking out, it is basicaly a mini extra horn that goes off and sounds just like the main horn, but yes it is there.
