Default Vinyl Question

First off, I don't know if this is the place to post this or not, but this seems to get the most traffic and the 4.6L V8 Specific>Appearance Modifications doesn't have a lot of traffic.

My question is where NOT ON THE WEB can a person buy vinyl stripes. I am the kind of guy that doesn't buy much off of the web, just because I like to look at what I am buying and have it in my hands. With these stripes that I want, I want to do it myself (especially after hearing some of the horror stories about the masking being cut while on the car), and I want a silver color that matches my rims.

Anyhow, isn't there a franchise store (GIJoe, Office Depot, Al's Discount Autoparts, etc) that sells rolls of 10" vinyl? Or is this just something that isn't sold that way?

Thanks

~Rolland

Default RE: Vinyl Question

I did some research on this one as well. I was going to go with Graphics Express for my stripes, but then found Baltimore Street Mods on ebay, that carried the same high quality stripes for a few hundred less (yes, I said a few hundred). For 70 bucks, I got my 3M stripes, and for 200, I got them installed by the local ricer shop (guy did a great job in my opinion). Graphics Express wanted 250 just for the kit, yet alone the install cost.

There are pics of my stripes on my web site below my sig.

Good luck man.

Rygen, have you had any problems with the vinyl on the front of the roof and on the hood rolling back just a little?

Nope, not on the roof, only the trunk. The stripes wrap around into the trunk. And inside the trunk, about an inch in, one of them is rolling a tad. I just push it back down every once in a while. Vinyl stripes are really dependant on installer skill. I might get some painted on later down the road, but then I would be temped to go with a dark blue stang with white stripes LOL.
