failsafe engine mode!!!
So last night i was cruisin around just drivin normal around town with my buddy when these two hotties pull up in a convertible stang right next to me, so we r messin around with our cars revin up, kinda racin from light to light, then after i stopped at a light my engine just started making this put put sound and i heard a beep and it said failsafe engine mode.... so i was like wtf i better get off the road, went to give it gas nothing...idle speed...so i idle off the road and got it towed to the dealership where they will fix it for me when they get back on monday....ya kinda pissed, had a bunch of buddies check out the engine who could see nothing wrong with it...pretty gay
Mine was doing the same thing. Turns out it was the stock throttle body. Even though yours is an aftermarket, it's probably still the cause of the failsafe. These cars really don't take well to even small changes in the airflow. Since you were revving it a lot, this makes the chances even greater that it's the T/B or throttle position sensor. I don't think there are a lot of causes for the failsafe mode. Most problems will just throw a CEL. If it's the T/B, Ford will refuse to fix it and you will probably have to put the stock one back on.
Remrats,
HOpe you've got it fixed - go back for the hotties!!!!
Second the grill!!! Would love to have it for my 07 (when it arrives). So reminds me of my 66 GT Fastback - bought Dc 65. What a ride. Now can't wait for my 07.
