Tints?
damn, well my car is already screaming pull me over with its loud *** exhaust, i don't exactly think 5% tint would be in my best interest lol
So what would you all recommend for a tint on my mustang?
i was thinking like 20% maybe? or is that too dark and would cause too many problems?
Pictures of your tints would be great too, so i can get an idea of how they'd look!
thanks guys

I have a "Screaming Yellow" GT. Had it tinted about a year ago in the San Jose area of California. Don't remember the percentages. The back window and the two wee windows are the same. I do know they are not "Limo" dark. Too dark and seeing through the window with ter rearview mirror at night gets harder. You only see headlights, no cars. Is that a cop back there? Can't see inside too easily. The door windows are darker than legit, but, not maximum dark. NO proplems so far.
To me the tint makes the car look better. But the major reason I went for it was cause I'm told that doesn't matter which "tint" you get, they all protect the interior from the Sun equally. I HATE SUN DAMAGE! Couldn't stand the sun on that big interior expanse under the rear window! [:@]

Well you gota make sure to check what's legal in your state....(ha yea right [sm=icon_rofl.gif]) I have 15% on mine all the way around. Down here in Florida legal is 30% in the back and i wana say 20% in the rear.
There are actually many different types of tints out there, but the most common used tint is LLumar Jet. Jet is a dyed film that blocks out about 38% of the heat that enters your car through the sun. Jet is also low in reflectivity and had a 3 year warranty as well. But then again I'm getting off task and need to get to the point. Personally though in my opinion I would go with 5% all the way around. Though your circumstances call for something lighter. I have 5% all the way around and I love it, though I'm 17 and have no trouble seeing out the windows but it also depends on where you live and the laws there. Like here in Texas the legal tint on the front doors is 35%, but on the back you can go as dark as you want. But personally if I were you I would go 5% on the two Quarters, and on the back as well, and then 15% on the two front doors. But yeah just message me back if you want some more info. But if you think the back is too dark go with 15% all the way around, which would probably fit your needs. Laterz

I put 20% all the way around on my car and it came out very dark due to the factory tint. When I went and had it tested at a local tint shop their meter indicated my window was 9% ... way too dark since 32% is legal in Georgia. It really stands out on Screaming Yellow. I'll probably redo them with 35% and with the factory tint that should keep it in the high 20's ...
Here you go, 15% on 5 windows. It's not too bad at day time but at night you can't see in. I have had my windows tinted for about 5 months now with no problems. If I could do it again, I would go with 5%......

I would go 5% on the back window and the quarters and then maybe go 50 or 20% on the side ones that way it's not quite as noticeable the sides are done too.
Also, have you considered gradient colour tint? So at the top it will be black and then fade into red...just a thought.
