hey guys ive been reading up lately on alot of things but i can't seem to find what the coefficient of drag is for our cars? and what is better, a higher number or a lower number and how can you make the car more aerodyanmic, like would lowering it help?

Thanks in advance

There was a thread on top-speed around here somewhere... Near the end it got down to the computation of drag/terminal speed and had that data...

Yes lowering the car will help a lot. You really dont want any air passing underneath the car, as the bottom of most cars arent very aerodynamic. Also, removing any pockets from teh front of the car will help a lot too. My car is a 4eye, I put healight covers on it to get rid of the pockets they create, it was a noticable difference at higher speeds (100+). The only thing I dont like about the 05's front end is tha angle of the grille. Its not very aerodynamic friendly, its sloped at a bad angle, IMO. If you look at the profile of the 05, youll notice that the top of the grille actually sticks out past the bottom of the grille, which in essence tries to push teh air underneath the car. I think my 85 is more aerodynamic than the 05's, just look. If I were you Id look at some sort of front spoiler that would help push the air up over the car rather than how Ford did it.

I wonder if anyone has the drag data lying around for the 84-86s? - I have an 85 too - the window angle is pretty severe... which makes a difference...

The trouble with the 05 front is that it hook down and forces the air to either go under the hood (thus the flapping at high speed) or around the lights...

Though with the top down or the T's off - who really cares?!?

Lower it, get a chin spoiler - then stop worrying about it and just add more HP...

i already have chin spoiler, its painted to the match car in case yo udidnt notice it in my sig

but does anyone have the actual coefficient of drag numbers so i can use them when im just comparing cars?

The new Mustangs are as aerodyanmic as a parachute.

I dont know the drag coeffecient for a parachute, but would imagine its quite high.

Whered you get that picture? And any idea of whether those side and window scoops are available anywhere?
