If you saw the post a few months ago, then you would have saw my 06gt after the girl pulled out in front of me...but anyways it was totalled and my 07gt just came in thursday and im already having problems i thought maybe i could get some help with on here. 1. shifter is very VERY notchy and gets "hung" in neutral alot. With and with out my hurst.(out it in and took it back out...no luck) 2. prettyloud ticking from the motor(maybe a lifter) any help or advice would be great! I work at the Ford house here but i really hate dealing with service. haha esspecially since they know me they always put me last

Don't know what it is but my V6 does the same. I am taking it in next week. Will post what they say if they find anything. Sometimes the "tick" sound from the engine is so loud I can't hear the radio on the highway. Actually mine is more like the engine is running on rubberbands as my husband puts it.

I thought that too, but my Dad just bought a 06 GT and his doesn't drive at all like mine - shifts fine and no loud noises during acceleration or cruising speeds.

Your V6 has a different engine, transmission, rear end and shifter so it will drive differently than a GT, maybe I miss-read your post but at least I didn't say "DUH".

ok here is what my car does (see if it compares to yours). Tranny clunks when shifting; sometimes is very hard to get into 1st and 2nd; and engine very loud at 40 and over (sortof a thumping sound). I took it to a Mercury dealership that works on Fords and they said it is definitely the tranny. Ford won't let them work on it w/o testing another stang to compare. Well of course they don't have one on the lot (since it is a Mercury dealership) so I have to take it to the Ford dealership that supposedly replaced the tranny when I first bought it. Lovely! I have a feeling this is going to be a pain in my @ss!

Took my car in today; all the noises mentioned above are coming from the tranny they said. They have taken out the transmission and say they are fixing it - they have yet to tell me what is wrong w/ it though. So I have a Ford Escape to drive until Monday - yipee! I am just glad they agreed something was wrong w/ it b/c the noises were starting to get embarassing.
